Hey Reader,
“Can you believe that October is over?!” someone said to me earlier last week.
Yes, it happens every single year. People have had a lapse in time and “suddenly” everyone is scrambling.
But what if I told you it doesn’t have to feel like that?
We can shift how we percieve the ‘end of the year’ chaos to being an opportunity to doing things differently.
Instead of leaving it to chance to help you stay on track with the goals you set out to accomplish back in January 2025 - you can prepare.
This can be done by identifying what your end of the year mission is, what you need to make that happen and putting into action.
Mission
You are the main character of your life. Imagine that this is where the movie starts- you’ve managed to find your groove…
But around the corner, just like every other year, the holidays are creeping in.
This time …you’re on a mission. A mission to have a different approach. One that will keep you on track, managing to still prioritize your overall wellness goals without compromising enjoying the festivities.
You see, looking ahead and preparing is the only way you’ll be able to have a different outcome.
Because as we know, doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.
So instead of waiting until things get hectic, ask yourself;
What will I do differently in order to complete the mission?
For example:
Have alternative workout plans for busier days.
Involve your family & friends when it comes to your movement.
Find new recipes that support your nutritional goals.
Set boundaries beforehand.
This is about creating clarity and structured next steps. It means you see the bigger picture of what you need to accomplish this mission.
Support
To truly understand what you need for the reaminder of the year, look at where you want to be when 2026 comes around. Would you rather be feeling guilty or accomplished? Strong or behind?
Sticking with the movie analogy used above- we know that there are supporting characters that help move the plot forward.
For example, the protagonist meets someone that provides useful information, or they find inspiration after having a conversation or simply ask for help to complete a mission.
The beauty of thinking about your life in a movie format is that you get to take a step back, and determine what kind of support you need to get to your desired outcome.
This is your invitation to take 60 seconds right now and answer the following:
What external supports (mentors, structure, accountability systems, community) could make this goal easier to sustain?
Once you identify this, you’re now one step closer to success. You know what you need, now make it a part of your plan.
Execution
Most people skip what comes after gathering information. Ultimately, what you’ve learned isn’t helpful if you don’t use it to take action.
Here are your simple first two steps:
- Write down the answers (for the questions above) where you can clearly see them every-single-day
- Identify where you will find your external support & ask
Boom, execution.
You’ve now established what you will do so you’re not confused. Additionally, if the holidays are a particular challenging season for you, you’ll know where your support is - and lean on it.
The end of the year does not have to mean you put your wellness and fitness goals to the side. All you truly need is a willingness to do things differently, making the effort to prepare and being ready to follow through on your mission.
